Rifling through my old leather imitation plastic portfolios I found some old figure drawing pages I felt like sharing had to photo graph them though because they where too big to scan and too brittle to be folded under the scanning bed.
So finally the book has been printed... well at least the first batch anyway. There is something very fulfilling about hold a hard bound copy of something you worked on. The printers screwed a few things up but hopefully I can have em correct it b4 its too late.
Ok so I've been feeling the creative juices flowing again but a recent laps of procrastination resulted in a whole lot of piled up work so now I have to kick it into overdrive so that I can get to doing stuff I really want to do. Here is one of 4 drawings I have going. Hmm only 6 more books to go after this jeeez but I'm vowing to get it all done this year.
Look this is the last of the Ganos illo's, last week was a rush and the 6th illo really sucked and no. 5 wasn't far off either. At least the last is in color and I've come up with a simple style that I can do in about an hour or 2.
So back when I first started learning painter I used to walk around with a 12x12 waccom tablet like a jackass. I visited my cousin at Cleveland Institute of Arts and did a 15, 20 minute painting while waiting for him in the studio. Man part of me wishes I went to a school like that but Daemen surved me well.
Two other older awards. One concept I came up with sketched out and Art Directed the Photographer later entered it in AP and won first place. The other was an illustration I did a co-worker entered it for me and I won third place.
AP awards are NY state wide awards it includes all major Newspapers like NYPost, Daily News, syracuse and albany papers etc... The Buffalo News awards are local inhouse awards. The First Place award is from Youth Editorial Alliance.
Ok so I've been kinda slow at putting up new stuff. I've been working on a New Blog. Which really isn't new at all just a page I'm using to host a few Images I'll use to sell myself as a freelancer. You can check that out at WWW.NAHZINK.blogspot.com. I Also have some good news... well for me anyway I won a couple awards this year and I'll be reposting those pieces along with the awards as soon as I get stuff together but anyway in the mean time here's a feel illos. I haven't been drawing much at work or at home last few months have I have been designing web pages.
got a few illo's to do ...about 7 or 8 to be precise... for these series of Next stories. So in order to speed up the process trying someting a little new (well for me anyway) leave comments if you like... or if you don't like.
Did this drawing right after graduating from Highschool I was trying to work up my portfolio. I can't believe I turned this into my school with the middle fingers. lol
First year back from college broke but I wanted to give myself something to do. Had some left over paints and a handy domino box (which I'm surprised to say has held up considering its almost 14 years old. Anyway I like this drawing the eye are kind of bulbous and the sockets are not inset in the head correctly but I like it.
