Negrofying Stan!

The original sketch was a rendering close to the original artist. There is a simplicity to the style I really like but fear it may not jell with the rest of my work or redesign of the characters. A number of the characters will have to go through this process. I slowly added detail trying to make the character more ethnic. This was also done on the cintiq freehand no great feat by far but it is a great leap compared to the freehand cripple shit I used to do on the intous.

Clone Update!!

Okay so this very loose rendering illo may not display the smallest inkling (pun intended) of correct chiaroscuro but after days of searching I'm glad to say I've found a tool within' painter that allows me to emulate a crow quil and get a variation in line weight with out much strain. Now if only I can find the equivalent of a dry brush sable it my be worth shelling out the 2,000 or a 1000 bucks for a cintiq and abandon inking "CLONE" (the 300 page novel) by traditional means.

And how phone card companies and telephone companies can rip you off! painting is unfinished changed position of soldier in an attempt to create some distance between both figures as they are supposed to be in 2 different parts of the world. howerver I'm not sure if its quite working yet.

Well its time to get started on clone. Its gonna be a long haul 275 pages at the end I may want to strangle the writer but its a terribly good read. Might just be the longest graphic novel in comic history. In the meanwhile my posts may even be more far and few between unless I get the okay to post concept illo's and a splash page or two on my blog to peak some interest. well see how it goes for now here is the pen inking to my current BN project.

Comcast Vs. Bittorent.

Lots of stuff on the horizon. This year I've been doing a lot of Comic oriented stuff I wrapped up a comic seminar at Tapestry down town Buffalo and immediately got to work on scripting my very own graphic novel. Only to be broadsided by my long time colleague Ahmad Jordan. He has an amazing script and has just commissioned me to do his very first graphic novel. Its a great story and I can't wait to get started so keep your eyes pealed I'll be posting stuff to peak your interest so that you'll buy hundreds of copies when the books come out.

Sooo Busy!!!

Will be back soon this year has started out to be a real busy one but right now this is where I need to be. I'll be posting a few things once I get the breathing room. A current seminar I'm holding at Tapestry has definitely got me thinking hard about doing comics again! Heres a small sample of what I've been up to!

Okay so I really don't post preliminary designs but this one is shaping up really nicely for being an after thought. My true intentions was to blowup an actually TV for this up coming story about Internet broadcast programming and the possibility that it will destroy television as we know it. Any how to make a long story short this is a backup plan to blowing one up but I'm really beginning to like it enough just to use this instead. (DAMM!!! I really wanted to blowup the shit out of something too!) By the way obviously thats not the real headline!
