Can I really consider this a rough anymore?

I am suppose to meet with a potential client today to go over Ideas for a mural, except he wants a finished illustration before he decides who he's gonna hire for the gig. Not happy about the Idea of that but I could use the money so I started out deciding to do a very loose rendering I planned on bringing examples of how tight I can work so he knows what to expect. Now looking back though for a rough this has still ended up being way more work than I wanted it to be.

The idea that he wants a finished product before even making a deposit sounds really sucky.

But I hope that you get it too, its really beautiful.

Well its a no go on this illustration. However, he liked the one of the guy with the cup and the umbrella in a sea of coffee. Interesting enough the door is still open I sketched the busy street Idea based on what I thought he wanted. Now I can just submit a pencil sketch of what I think would work for the space. I wish I had remembered sending him links to my flickr page because he was pointing out illustrations he liked from what I posted. I must admit though I'm even more confused now as to why he needed a worked up sketch and color palette for these ideas.
